GridFTP Service

At a combined Ops/Data meeting some of the partner sites expressed issues in implementing this owing to local IP address naming policies.

Thus, the aim of this document is to

• serve as a template for what will go onto a user-facing wiki at some point
• keep track of how each ARCS site implements its data services
• points of contact as each ARCS site w.r.t. GridFTP operation

Naming convention

To present a unified view of the GridFTP resources, it was proposed that GridFTP servers on GridAustralia? have a unified naming convention.

The assumptions implicit in the naming scheme is that there are both data and compute resources accessible by end-users.
